How can I use CarMaker with ROS?

Question

ROS (Robot Operating System) is an open-source, meta-operating system in the field of robotics. Now it is more and more widely used in automobile industry for the development of advanced driver assistance systems and automated driving.

IPG CarMaker and ROS have both open interfaces which enable an easy co-simulation.

The CMRosIF-1.0.0 package aims at helping the users who have already some knowledge about the interface programming in CarMaker simulation environment and general ROS experience to build a co-simulation environment between CarMaker and ROS or ROS 2. A detailed documentation can be found in the /doc folder of the package.

To ensure compatability to CarMaker versions older than 9.0 the legacy version of the package is available.

Disclaimer:
Using CarMaker ROS Interface needs good programming knowledge of C/C++ and ROS.
This demo example aims at showing the functionality of CarMakerROS co-simulation. The CarMaker ROS Interface may change in the future. Therefore, no official support will be provided. Any reports related to the usage of CarMaker ROS Interfacemay not be processed.
