Software
Predict today what may be relevant for the vehicle of the future! Our software solutions from the CarMaker product family help to integrate vehicle components into the full vehicle at an early stage and to save valuable time. Virtual prototypes enable the agile development of components and, subsequently, virtual test driving in realistic scenarios. Our entire software portfolio is geared towards the seamless application of model-, software-, hardware- and vehicle-in-the-loop methods, and can perfectly be integrated into already existing tool landscapes. In addition, our simulation software offers flexible options for test automation and scaling from cloud options to large HIL test benches.
Highlights CarMaker 12 release
Import and export of roads
The Scenario Editor allows to split road networks into segments and to export them separately, e.g. into a road module library. They can be added to and connected with other road networks.
Movie NX Python API
You can now load or switch configurations live, add drawings on screen or manipulate contents of the 3D environment via script. This makes process automation much easier.
Modular powertrain
Flexible powertrain modeling allows to model exceptional hybrid powertrain architectures. This allows for simpler implementation of central ECUs for example.
Ground truth sensor module
The new ground truth sensor module provides line data from simulation and gives users more flexibility in the choice of data, which thus controls the balance between output and performance.
HD Scenarios “Suburban” and “UK Highway”
The suburban scenario with a high traffic density, many pedestrians, everyday traffic obstructions and the UK Highway scenario complete the scenario portfolio for comprehensive testing of camera-based systems.
Enhanced scenario definition
To generate scenarios, entities can be selected from a central library and placed directly in an existing road model. The multitude of new options in the maneuver also facilitates a high compatibility with OpenSCENARIO.
New battery model and validated data sets
The model enables detailed testing of EVs, especially regarding range predictions. In addition, it lays the foundation for applications in the field of battery management systems.
Use of custom 3D models in Movie NX
CarMaker 12 supports the use of 3D elements in standard formats such as glTF to model the environment. Scenarios are therefore automatable and can be adapted to customer-specific requirements.
Support for ASAM simulation standards
In addition to the support for the latest OpenDRIVE version, CarMaker now supports OpenSCENARIO as well. With the OpenSCENARIO Converter, scenarios defined in the OpenSCENARIO format can now be directly fed to and simulated in CarMaker.
CarMaker
CarMaker facilitates the development and test of cars and light-duty vehicles. Designed as an open integration and test platform, CarMaker can be applied throughout the entire development process – from MIL, SIL, HIL to VIL. CarMaker performs impressively well on notebooks, HPCs as well as in the cloud, guarantees increased productivity and thus helps to save significant amounts of money.
TruckMaker
TruckMaker offers the same advantages as CarMaker while, at the same time, being designed to meet development and test requirements of heavy-duty vehicles. Our customers benefit from the powerful models included in TruckMaker that are specifically tailored to the simulation of trucks, semi-trucks, busses and construction vehicles.
MotorcycleMaker
MotorcycleMaker from the CarMaker product family is geared towards the simulation and development of motorized two-wheelers such as motorcycles, e-bikes or scooters. The interaction between driver and two-wheeler can be modeled intuitively in maneuvers. With models developed specifically for two-wheelers, real test drives can be represented virtually and at an early stage. This allows to save time and money in the development process.
Add-ons
IPG Automotive offers additional modules, for example the Physical Sensor Models or SimNet, that are fully compatible with the CarMaker product family. The product portfolio also includes stand-alone applications such as the KnC Data Converter. Together, they support our customer’s development process according to their individual and specific needs.
