Our colleagues from the “Development” department work at the heart of our company. They develop and program software products for the software-in-the-loop and model-in-the-loop method, design hardware products for hardware-in-the-loop simulation and create tools for test automation. Finding innovative product solutions for the challenges of the automotive industry and integrating their ideas in the improvement of our simulation software is what drives them on a daily basis. The team aims at promoting topics such as autonomous vehicles or alternative powertrains and contributes to future breakthroughs in virtual vehicle development. In order to achieve this goal, this department covers a broad spectrum of skills. The team works across different disciplines and cooperates closely with Product Management.
Test Systems & Engineering
Our colleagues from “Test Systems & Engineering” find solutions tailored to the challenges our customers in the automotive industry face. They aspire to provide them with the newest technologies, methods and tools for an efficient vehicle development. They take a deep dive into the fields of autonomous vehicles, ADAS, virtual prototypes or RDE as well as development methods such as MIL, SIL, HIL, Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Testing (CT) and Continuous Deployment (CD). A customer project can take a few days to many months to finalize. During the entire project, our colleagues are in close contact with our customers. Team diversity is essential, especially regarding the tasks. For this reason, employees that enjoy traveling as well as those who have an itch for programming or hands on work feel at ease with us.
Product Management is responsible for developing our products and services portfolio. Our colleagues always aim at optimizing the products and customer experience and promoting innovations. The team operates as an interface and interacts with all departments of the company. From Development, Business Development to Corporate Communications & Media and Sales: our product managers are involved in all company-wide processes. With their expert knowledge, they support the roadmap for upcoming product releases, the corporate strategy and further development of the company. They also give advice on how to market the final products. If you are looking for a multi-faceted job, are good at multitasking and passionate about technical details and the mobility of the future, you are a perfect match for this team.
Our Solutions Engineering team is the key point of contact for our customers in case they need assistance using our products. Their daily business consists of analyzing requests and to always find a suitable solution. In addition to technical advice via e-mail, video call and phone, they also offer online or on-site training courses for our users. This does not only help our product users, but also the colleagues in our team who learn something new: With every request, they obtain customer-specific insights into details and application possibilities of the CarMaker product family and can therefore considerably extend their expertise on our products. If you are interested in technology and an avid learner, good at explaining things and enjoying direct customer contact, you will feel right at home in our international team.
Business Development focuses on the future of our company. Our colleagues are passionate about new technologies and work on securing the leading market position of IPG Automotive in the future as well. The main areas of work are developing a medium-term product strategy and the business segment, entering new markets and application areas as well as contributing to their evolution. Another focus lies on customer counseling regarding the digitization of vehicle development. Furthermore, they evaluate new ideas and innovations and analyze their capacity to be implemented. Every day is different at the interface between Product Management, Sales, Corporate Communications & Media on the one hand and the customers and partners on the other hand. Curiosity and openness foster strategies and recommendations to shape the future. They are presented in-house as well as on a global scale at our customers’ locations.
Marketing & Communications
The creativity and editorial skills of our colleagues define the perception and image of IPG Automotive. Making complex topics accessible to the intended target audience and putting a spotlight on our innovative product solutions drives us in our day-to-day work. This way, we create communication activities that have a powerful online and offline impact. The team takes care of all topics related to external and internal corporate communications and serves as an interface between all departments. Team players with a soft spot for B2B communication that enjoy working across disciplines and continents and are passionate about new technologies and trends in the software and automotive industry will find what they have always been looking for.
Our colleagues from HR are the first IPG Automotive team members applicants get to meet. They accompany the entire application process from the first contact at a job fair or via the online application to the interview to the onboarding process and company orientation program for new colleagues. Our HR colleagues are at the administrative heart of the company and responsible for all topics related to personnel in close cooperation with the board of management. Defining and successfully implementing internal processes as well as planning and organizing employee events, which are an important part of our corporate culture, are part of their day-to-day work. Persons with a talent for people and interest for administrative tasks will blossom and develop their skills in this department.
A global company needs a first port of call that coordinates all activities. That is the task of our colleagues working in the Administration department. The order management for our software and hardware products is the team’s main task. This involves global license management as well as invoices and the international commercial shipment including the associated customs clearance. For everything to work well, they are in permanent contact with our international subsidiaries as well as with different internal departments. The team is working on highly dynamic tasks and constantly facing new questions and challenges that make their daily work very diverse. We therefore need communicative colleagues that work in a customer-oriented and flexible way.
You might believe that this department solely focuses on generating revenue. But you are mistaken. Our colleagues have many tasks that go beyond the traditional conception of this department. They develop new, innovative concepts to reach customers in times of difficulties and economic uncertainty, for example. Moreover, they adapt strategies to different markets, manage and maintain relations with key accounts and new customers and are constantly on the lookout for optimization potential. Organizing and holding webinars and a variety of sales campaigns as well as the permanent development and adaptation of the different sales strategies tailored aimed at the various target markets complete the profile of tasks. Sales experts that are as passionate about lead generation and securing sustainable business relations as about trade fair visits and workshops can become a part of a dynamic work environment and make a lasting impact.
Planning, analysis and control: This is the field our colleagues from Controlling work in. Due to their close cooperation with the board of management, they know where the business is going and deliver information to make entrepreneurial decisions. Drafting budget plans, calculating results and handling project controlling are also part of their tasks. They look into the future and identify economic successes with forecasts. For a transparent and smooth process, our math wizards plan strategic measures to establish, control and implement company processes. Over 300 work spaces, countless servers and end devices such as printers or switches: Our IT team makes sure that everything works just fine. To do so, optimal monitoring processes are necessary that detect faults and security flaws quickly to then be solved by our colleagues. Much time is also invested into the extension of complex IT infrastructure projects. As an international company with offices around the globe, there is always work in terms of interconnectedness. In addition, administrative tasks, first and second level support for our users as well as the provision and maintenance of user systems are attended on a daily basis. Because of our heterogeneous infrastructure consisting of Windows and Linux users, things never get boring. Therefore, we are not looking for Linux gurus or Windows advocates, we need the best of both worlds – flexible and communicative team players.
