After more than 16 years, IPG Automotive is leaving the office buildings in the industrial area Bannwaldallee and moves to a new building directly behind Karlsruhe main station. The company thus modernizes and centralizes the workspace of its roughly 250 employees in Karlsruhe. Within walking distance from Karlsruhe main station, the headquarters are now optimally connected for local and long-distance travel by car or public transport. This is just one aspect of sustainability that IPG Automotive aimed at with the move. The company also selected the building and equipment taking environmentally-friendly factors into account. By way of example, the building at Fautenbruchstraße 46 is certified according to ESG criteria and equipped with sustainable technologies such as a PV system, cooling ceilings and a ventilation system with heat recovery.
In addition to the spatial changes, IPG Automotive is putting a strong focus on collaboration with the move. The office design follows an open space concept to promote the exchange of ideas, because the development of IPG Automotive’s innovative solutions is based on close collaboration – not only with customers, but also between different departments. Large offices, spaces to retreat in different sizes and agile areas offer the optimal place to work dynamically. At the same time, space for customers and partners is currently being created. For instance, the new headquarters will feature a showroom in which visitors will be able to see and experience all products from IPG Automotive.
President & CEO Steffen Schmidt: “I am delighted to be starting a new chapter at IPG Automotive with the new offices at Bürotel am Wasserturm, especially as we are celebrating our 40th anniversary this year. The new buildings help us to work together even closer and integrate the innovative force of our diverse teams even better into our products.”
