IPG Automotive strengthens its global presence by establishing a subsidiary in India. On December 1, the IT company will open an office in Bangalore. Autonomous mobility expert Dr. Nagesh Poojary was nominated as Managing Director.
With over eight million inhabitants, Bangalore is the center of the Indian high-tech industry. To strengthen customer relations on site, IPG Automotive opened its first office in India.
With Nagesh Poojary appointed as Managing Director, a seasoned automotive manager and development engineer is running the Indian subsidiary. Beforehand, he worked at Continental in Bangalore as location leader of the Product Line Safety where his responsibilities included the Autonomous Mobility unit with its Systems and Software Business. Furthermore, he has many years of experience in the development of computer vision as well as safety and camera solutions for ADAS.
Senior Vice President and CCO Martin Elbs is positive about the growth potential in India: “The Indian market plays a very essential role in the automotive industry. It is therefore consistent to open up this market with our own subsidiary and offer local support.”
The new Managing Director India, Nagesh Poojary, confirms: “IPG Automotive will even be closer to the customers in India and support them to the best of our abilities on site. In the past, a sales partner was responsible for the Indian market, but now, we are handling business directly ensuring customer centricity. I am looking forward to this new task and to the team which will help shape the future of vehicle development and mobility solutions.”
