IPG Automotive is proud to once more sponsor the IMechE Formula Student competition. Formula Student is Europe's most established educational engineering competition and will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2023 at the home of the British Grand Prix, Silverstone circuit, in July. The competition aims to develop enterprising and innovative young engineers and encourage more young people to take up a career in engineering, with over 100 university teams taking part.

The students taking part get a chance to demonstrate their technical analysis, engineering design and manufacturing skills all whilst having to meet a strict deadline. Learning lessons along the way in team work, time management, project management, budgeting and presentation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our Formula CarMaker program. The engineering students gain hands-on experience in automotive construction by forming teams to develop their own racing car at the Formula Student events. With our complimentary Formula CarMaker program, we enable the virtual simulation of prototypes for Formula Student Combustion (FSC), Formula Student Electric (FSE) and Formula Student Driverless (FSD) racing teams. Our team are currently working on a brand new circuit for the students to use within the lap time simulation event which will ensure the competition is fair and balanced for all students taking part.

IPG Automotive will be attending the event at Silverstone Race Circuit, providing demonstrations of the CarMaker software capabilities and explaining how we support students to meet their goals. We are looking forward to meeting the passionate Formula Student teams and encouraging them to improve vehicle performance through effective virtual testing.
