Joint Innovation Laboratory to pioneer future of intelligent connected vehicles

On June 27, 2024, the 7th Intelligent Connected Vehicle Product Testing and Certification Technology Forum organized by CATARC Automotive Test Center (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. successfully convened in Tianjin, China. The forum aimed to foster industry consensus, drive technological advancement and tackle key challenges in industry development.

During the event, CATARC Automotive Test Center and IPG Automotive GmbH announced the establishment of the Intelligent Connected Vehicle Simulation Testing Joint Innovation Laboratory. Ms. Yan Yan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman and General Manager of CATARC Automotive Test Center, alongside Mr. Huang Xiao, Managing Director of IPG Automotive (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., attended the inaugural ceremony of this joint initiative. This collaboration aims to leverage the respective strengths of IPG Automotive’s and CATARC Automotive Test Center in automotive testing technology and simulation to drive the innovation and implementation of simulation-based testing technologies for intelligent connected vehicles.

Under the framework of the Joint Innovation Laboratory, both entities will carry out research on the following key technologies for simulation testing, which are applied in areas related to testing and evaluation of intelligent connected vehicles:

  • Credibility assessment of simulation testing
  • Development of a traffic safety validation scenario library for typical scenarios in China and Europe
  • Continuous traffic simulation testing
