Go West: Meet the team of IPG Automotive in the US

Although China has been gaining relevance in the automotive market, the United States of America are still the second biggest producer and user of cars worldwide. This is why one of the first subsidiaries of IPG Automotive opened 2016 in Ann Arbor in Michigan, the state that is home of major players of the industry in the US.

Today, a team of 16 experts works in the offices under the leadership of Carl Squire. It combines application engineers with experts in technical sales, marketing and management. Together, they work with around 50 unique customers in all areas of vehicle simulation. They are not only covering customers in the US, but from the entire American continent from Canada to South America.

The American colleagues are a stable and reliable partner supporting the different customers’ needs, but also push innovation forward. One of their success stories is a Vehicle-in-the-Loop (VIL) project with Ford. This test method combines simulation-based and real testing. It enables testing in a detailed virtual environment with simulated road users, while the physical vehicle drives on the test track.

We are thankful to have such an experienced team covering this important market and wish them success in their upcoming endeavours.
