A dynamic team in a bustling country: IPG Automotive in India

Almost one year ago, the doors of our youngest subsidiary opened in Bengaluru, India. Today the vibrant team under the leadership of Nagesh Poojary already counts 20 colleagues, four teams, numerous key customers from the region and many exciting projects.

India is not only a country of cultural heritage where diverse traditions and more than 100 languages come together, it is also a dynamically evolving market for the tech and automotive industry. Especially Bengaluru, a city in the south of the country, became a hub for start-ups and established companies in the area. Following this market trend, this is where IPG Automotive opened its eighth subsidiary in December 2023 to be closer to the customers and shape vehicle development in India.

In its first year of business, the Indian team grew fast and succeeded in building up expertise in all operative areas. A team of mechanical engineers, software engineers and research analysts works on creating cutting-edge solutions tailored to the customers’ needs. While topics like powertrain, off-highway vehicles and motorcycles are constantly gaining significance, ADAS & AD still remains the area with the strongest growth in India. This is why many projects of the team focus on this application area. Highlights from the project portfolio are a Steering Test Bench along with a Driver-in-the-Loop delivered to an Indian OEM and the set-up of a cloud-based ADAS simulation for a major software supplier.

In addition to the technical department, three more teams work in the Indian office. The sales & marketing team oversees the market expansion and customer engagement, a team of business developers identifies new market opportunities and builds customer relationships to drive growth, and finally, the finance & administration team handles budgeting, financial reporting and day-to-day operations.

With this combination of expertise and close teamwork at the location and with international colleagues, IPG Automotive India already built successful relationships with important OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in the region. In August, they brought together key players from the industry at IPG Automotive India’s inauguration event to foster exchange and explore the future of the Indian automotive industry together.

We are excited to see what the future holds for this team and want to say, “Good Work!” in some of the Indian languages: ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ (Chennagide; Kannada), अच्छा काम (Accha Kaam; Hindi), நல்ல வேலை (Nalla Vēlai; Tamil).
