How do I integrate an OpenXWD Powertrain Model in CM4SL and CarMaker Standalone?

Question

The user has the possibility to integrate his OpenXWD powertrain model as C-code, FMU, Simulink Plug-in model or directly in CM4SL.

Today we want to share an example about how to integrate an OpenXWD Powertrain Model in CarMaker for Simulink by manipulating the corresponding UAQs and in CarMaker Standalone as Simulink Plug-in.

Solution

The OpenXWD approach can be used to model wheel hub motors, for example. In addition it is also possible to provide (negative) braking torques to the Trq_Drive UAQs, if a brake system or drag torque should be modeled. A switch might be very helpful to distinguish between driving torques and braking torques, in case a brake controller should be integrated. Please remember to switch off the Model Manager for the braking model in the Vehicle Data Set of CarMaker.
