Driving innovation and creating knowledge: Our commitment to the future
We support tomorrow's engineers already during their studies
We started off as a spin-off from the University of Karlsruhe, so we know that a degree can act as a springboard. We have maintained these close connections to universities since the very beginning and want to carry them forward into the future. IPG Automotive has a strong interest in ensuring that the next generation of experts receives an excellent technical education.
We support research and teaching, for example, by offering special rates for our simulation solutions so that students have the opportunity to apply the automotive systems engineering approach during their studies. Furthermore, we want to encourage enthusiasm for Formula Student – a competition in which the engineers of the future are at work.
Supporting universities also benefits us as a company. Students who have already worked with our products during their studies often start their careers at IPG Automotive. This ensures that we are always up to date with the most recent research and the latest methods – and remain a young team full of enthusiasm.
At home in the fast lane: Our Formula CarMaker program for student motor racing
In order to be successful in Formula Student, the vehicle dynamics must be right! We want to support student teams in achieving this, which is why we have initiated the Formula CarMaker program. With CarMaker and IPGKinematics, we offer professional support for vehicle dynamics simulation right from the start – even in the conceptual stage. We help improve the development process – from axle design and optimization to the release. You reap the benefits even during the project planning stages, as CarMaker offers exceptional presentation options with its Test Manager and visualizations. In short: As a Formula CarMaker member, you are in pole position.
We offer our Formula CarMaker program free of charge to non-commercial student racing teams. The partnership encompasses the following:
- Two rental licenses for the newest version of CarMaker, including the “Racing Driver” function of IPGDriver for one season free of charge
- Two rental licenses for IPGKinematics free of charge
- Free participation for two members of your team at a specialized Formula CarMaker Training which introduces the product
- Specialized data sets for a generic Formula Student vehicle which serve as a basis for constructing your own racing car
- A specialized Formula CarMaker tutorial
- Support when using CarMaker and IPGKinematics
- The opportunity to use our support
