Exchanging experiences with vehicle development in Japan

Presentations had their finger on the pulse of virtual development methods

In every field, it is essential to keep up-to-date with current trends and possibilities, and to exchange ideas and experiences. In September in Tokyo, our Japanese subsidiary IPG Automotive K.K. provided its national customers with the ideal platform for this and hosted the Virtual Test Driving Forum for the second time. The first edition of the biennial event was already well-received. This year, more than 60 participants from industry and research attended.

Managing Director Masanori Kobayashi opened the event in the afternoon at the Shangri-La Hotel in Tokyo with a talk on virtual development methods in the vehicle development process. The day offered ample time for exciting presentations by numerous industry partners and networking until evening.

Whether reports on testing along the V-model or specific use case examples – the Virtual Test Driving Forum offered the ideal opportunity for participants to learn about the possible applications of virtual test driving. During an open discussion, the attendees exchanged views in greater detail and answered questions.

Representatives from well-known Japanese enterprises and regional universities also used the opportunity for a glimpse into the future. Should you be interested in exchanging ideas about virtual vehicle development already next year, you are cordially invited to attend Apply & Innovate 2018 in Karlsruhe.
