New propulsion systems for vehicles need to be clean, efficient and powerful in order to meet the demands of clients and legislatures across the globe. Here, the vehicle’s behavior in specific test cycles is no longer the only focus. The issue of real-world vehicle operation is also increasingly moving into the center of attention. Our clients tell us about the difficulty of addressing this matter if the start of on-road testing is tied to the first available vehicle prototype. In the session on powertrain at our Open House, we will demonstrate how new propulsion systems can be developed and optimized flexibly and reproducibly under real-world driving conditions by means of real-world driving simulation with virtual prototypes in the simulation on the computer and on test benches.
