3D Mapping Solutions GmbH is the leading expert for high-precision kinematic surveying of roads and railways. 3D Mapping applies unique survey systems, which have been developed with special focus on automobile applications. The 3D Mapping survey systems apply high-resolution scanners and multiple cameras.
The systems are able to digitize test tracks, race tracks and public roads with relative accuracy below 1 mm on the road surface and a resolution of typically 2 million points per second. Typical applications are:
- Digitalisation of automobile test tracks or proving grounds as a worldwide service.
- Digitalisation of race tracks, such as Nürburgring, Nürburgring Nordschleife, Spielberg or Hockenheim or other.
- Digitalisation of public roads for automobile applications.
The digitalisation results are used as a basis for high-end simulations or simulator environments, e.g. for products in OpenDrive data format, or may be given in specialized regular-grid formats for auto-mobile development, such as crg, rgr or rdf.
AB Dynamics makes specialised test equipment used worldwide by OEMs, Tier 1s and test labs. From its background in vehicle dynamics, the company has developed a range of driving robots and moving soft targets which have found extensive applications in vehicle ride, handling and ADAS testing. AB Dynamics robots are now used by every major automaker worldwide as well as all the Euro NCAP test labs and NHTSA. The Guided Soft Target carries a photo-realistic and radar-reflecting vehicle target at speeds of up to 80kph and can be precisely synchronised for close interaction and collisions with the test vehicle. The company also offers lab test equipment such as the SPMM 5000 Suspension Parameter Measurement Machine, the SSTM Steering System Test Machine and the aVDS Driving Simulator. The synergy between AB Dynamics products allows Users to perform and validate the same crash or near crash scenarios on the aVDS as they can during physical ADAS testing on the proving ground.

The GPS-aided gyro system ADMA (Automotive Dynamic Motion Analyzer) provides highly precise data on acceleration, speed and position as well as the pitch, roll and heading angle of a moving vehicle. Ibeo Automotive Systems GmbH is the German specialist for automotive LIDAR sensor technology located in Hamburg. In addition to the state of the art laser scanners, Ibeo develops software for environmental detection, referencing tools for Highly Automated Driving and Autonomous Driving (HAD/AD) systems as well as Highly Automated Driving and Mapping & Localization applications.

rFpro’s ability to render 3D worlds in real-time allows it to run with HIL systems and human test drivers that cannot be adapted to run offline. rFpro will be showcasing CarMaker on high quality public road models in Europe and China.
SET Power Systems is a leading global supplier of test systems for electric motor ECUs. We have established a new testing method that was used in 2003 for the first time: a virtual electric motor replaces the conventionally required mechanical loading system, thus providing a complete testing environment in a lab. Since then, the testing tool "virtual e-machine" has been perfected and is now available to our customers as a closed power-hardware-in- the-loop-solution (P-HiL). The testing scope ranges from auxiliary units to high-performance drive inverters.
E-machine-emulators meet the demands of development-related tasks, verification on system level and end-of-line testing. At the same time requirements stipulated by ISO 26262 can be fulfilled. The P-HiL-setup makes it possible to visualize high-dynamic processes, independent of mechanical limitations. Conventional test methods using mechanical setups do not allow fault injection or fault stimulation. An e-machine-emulator however, provides full reproducibility of fault scenarios without endangering the unit under test (UUT). As the e-machine is not present as a mechanical device/application but exists in form of software models, machine parameter settings are adjustable and can be altered easily. Thus, at a very early stage, profound insights regarding UUT-behavior can be gained and conclusions drawn, leading to future oriented products and development strategies.

The field of activity of the Institute for Traffic Accident Research at Dresden University of Technology (Verkehrsunfallforschung an der TU Dresden GmbH, abbreviated form VUFO) includes the investigation, documentation and analysis of road accidents resulting in personal injury. The unique database of real traffic accidents GIDAS, including a high level of detail and in average 3,400 items per case, contains the ideas and potentials of future safety and assistance systems.
Reconstruction through accident analysts and the subsequently simulation of the traffic accidents supports the development of modern vehicle safety systems and enables their assessment directly based on real traffic scenario. Through our many years of collaboration with strong partners, mainly in the vehicle manufacturing industry, we contribute towards reducing the numbers of accidents, limiting damage and injury and optimizing the emergency services.
Furthermore, since 2013 VUFO is active in the investigation of driving behavior data in an in-house Naturalistic Driving Study (NDS). This data in addition to the accident data serves functional safety of systems in regular traffic scenario. Therewith normal driving situation as far as highly critical situations can be addressed and evaluated. This is of high significance for the development of traffic management systems as well as C2X-systems.
